Appeal
Plans have been drawn up for a new two-storey exhibition hall in the rear courtyard.
This largely glass fronted building will overlook the 16th century well at the
centre of the garden.
As well as increasing the space for our own displays, it is intended that some room will
be available for local art exhibitions and other temporary displays.
There is also a need for improved display cases, upgrading the current heating and
lighting systems in order to protect the Museum's contents. As with all museums,
improved storage facilities are essential. Improved access and a lift for the
disabled are included in these plans.
Individual items such as display cases can be sponsored.
Application has been made to the Heritage Lottery Fund but much of this work needs to be
done as soon as possible, therefore we are making this appeal to assure our future and
to continue to share our past.
